strippertweets: 1. Chuck Klosterman is essentially one person, a somewhat androgynous American man named Chuck Klosterman. This is his nth column. I get the sense that asexuality is part of his hesher aesthetic, because I just looked at the Chuck Klosterman Wikipedia page and noticed that the wiki writer put a…

2011 Wasn't Complete Bullshit
The best part of 2011 was that I finally let myself realize that I don’t want to do anything else but write. And I started getting paid for writing. At minimum I want to quadruple my weekly output next year. There a billion things I could complain about, but I will never ever forget this as the year I started getting paid to do the one thing that makes sense to me.

people who don't think they need editors or more...
douglasmartini: heronqueenblues: the funniest joke in existence. If you always agree with how you’re edited, you don’t have enough faith in your own vision. BUT if you’re the type of writer who doesn’t think you need an editor, you’re exactly the type of writer who needs an editor. Writing with an editor is like a game. Each side tries to trick the other person into what the end result...

Tumblr Should Hire David: To Tumblr: →
davidkarpshouldhiredavid: Hello. My name is David Grossman, and you should hire me for the position of Community Editor. Your job application didn’t include a place for a cover letter, which I thought would put me at a disadvantage, since most of my relevant experience comes with pretty unimpressive titles, like “Intern”….

You guys, Maya Angelou was on 106 and Park? And 106 and Park is still around? And it still looks exactly like 90’s TRL?

RIP, Christopher Hitchens
lazybookreviews: I don’t give a shit about not thinking women were funny, and I don’t care that he was wrong about Iraq.  You can be wrong about things for decent reasons. He was the best. He was a fantastic writer, and could argue better while completely drunk than anyone else in the world could sober. I’m going to miss him. In his honour, I would like to remind everyone that there is...

– -from “Wal-Mart Heiress’s Art Museum a Moral Blight” by Jeffrey Goldberg, whose sleuthing has uncovered the world’s first cultural institution bankrolled by wealth gained at the expense of working people. To me, it’s a perennial truth that Wal-Mart should treat workers much much much better. What...

BATMAN WILL NEVER DIE
No one’s ever planned an end for Batman. I mean, obviously the movies have endings. Comic arcs have endings. But no one has ever said, “That’s it. We’re done with Batman.” Why would they? Batman is nothing if not a money-making machine. 2008’s The Dark Knight is the eighth-highest grossing movie of all time. There are over a dozen Batman-themed rides at theme parks over the world. Under ‘The New...

The very last Calvin & Hobbes Comic
synecdoche: cleanupyouract:fuckyeahemo:realsweettooth: I remember reading this strip when it came out which was 3 months after I had to start taking Ritalin in the 5th grade and just balling my eyes out. that’s weird because this isn’t the last comic? and Bill Watterson obviously didn’t draw it? Holy fuck this pisses me off for MULTIPLE REASONS. ONE FAKE ATTRIBUTION TWO FAKE COMIC THREE...
