Like Neil Young said, a man needs a blog.

AMAZING, but I’m just going to use this to talk about my current problems with Parks and Rec. I went into this campaign arc being like, “Okay, you’ve done this work, the writers probably haven’t, it’s a comedy, etc.”. Because this type of local politicking interests me more then anything else, really (i.e, am writing a collection of short stories about it right now! first time ever mentioned in public! aaaaah). And a lot of it they get right! Obviously they cut out the boring parts, but I mean, the phone bank was pretty on point. But but but. My problem, to my surprise, is Leslie. She is a horrible candidate. It’s so weird to me that this person portrayed as an ultra-competent bureaucrat, someone who we have seen willing to do difficult, unpopular things to get ideas seen through, utterly flailing. I discussed this a bit with Noted Tumblr User Pilot last night, and we both agreed that Leslie is almost definitely gonna lose. I mean, obviously it could turn around, but at this point it would take a lot for me to believe that Leslie is not too blinded by her childhood dreams to make a serious run. Maybe this isn’t a problem with Parks & Rec, per se, maybe it’s actually it’s most genius move, attempting to go for the painful out-of-league-ness from UK Office but with someone who actually should get the things they want! But man, that would be a really weird transition for a show that been the Nicest Thing on TV.
